We’re always raving about the secondhand luxury market in Japan, but little did we know, the scene in China is just as huge, if not, even larger! This is ZZER只二, a Chinese second-hand luxury goods consignment platform, and also the largest one in the whole country.

They’re known for their huge collection of luxury fashion items, with physical stores that are the size of IKEA warehouses - just endless rows of thousand-dollar bags and clothes. They have several outlets across China, but we went to the one in Shanghai, as it’s said to be the largest at nearly 10,000 sqft. Inside, there’s more than 100,000 items from over 5,000 international brands, so you can imagine the sheer size of it. 😱

Before entering, you have to download their app. They do not have labels on their items, but a barcode which you scan on the app, and it will show you all the info you need like price, seller profile, product info etc. Technically, you can also shop on the app itself before heading down to make the purchase and collect. 📱

For a shop this huge, we’re surprised by how organised it is, with all the items categorised by its type and brand. Items with the same design are also put together, so you can compare the condition and prices easily. They also have other special sections such as ‘First Look’ where they store items that are not placed for public viewing yet, and ‘Blackstone’ where they house the super premium items like Chanel and Hermes. ✨

Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit, as prices are more attractive than Japan, but you need to do a lot more digging to find the rare ones. Selections aren’t as good as Japan too, they only have mainstream luxury brands, but limited designers ones like CDG, Chrome Hearts etc.
