well known Poet ,Thinker ,Social-Political Activist and Agriculturist Nagathihalli Ramesh Bags Bharat Dignity Award with Honour on Dec 27 at Kolkata,West bengal state

Kolkata:
Renowned Kannada poet and social crusader Shri Nagathihalli Ramesh received the prestigious "Bharat's Pride in Literature and Social Change Award" at the Bharat Dignity Awards 2025 ceremony here on Saturday, celebrating his lifelong dedication to literature, activism, and sustainable agriculture.
The event, organised by the Bharat Dignity Awards committee, spotlighted Ramesh's multifaceted contributions as an internationally acclaimed thinker, short filmmaker, and political activist from Karnataka. His innovative work in promoting eco-friendly farming practices alongside incisive literary critiques has inspired generations, earning him accolades for bridging art with societal reform.
Presenting the award, dignitaries lauded Ramesh's "effortless" impact on agricultural revival and grassroots movements. "His verses ignite change; his fields feed hope," one speaker noted. Ramesh, in his acceptance speech, urged youth to embrace ethical activism amid India's evolving challenges.
The ceremony drew litterateurs, farmers' leaders, and activists, underscoring the award's role in recognising unsung heroes. As Ramesh humbly dedicated the honour to rural voices, the evening reaffirmed literature's power in fostering dignity and progress across Bharat.

Nagathihalli Ramesh, born on June 1, 1967, in a modest village in Mandya district, Karnataka, embodies resilience and creativity that transcend humble beginnings. Overcoming childhood stammering and urban hardships, this former fruit seller and newspaper boy transformed ridicule into triumph, earning degrees in science, law, and journalism from Bangalore and Mysore universities.
Ramesh's journey reflects unyielding spirit. Despite early humiliations and near-suicidal despair, he channeled anguish into poetry, short films, and activism. His debut collection, "The Sea and the Rain," praised by Dr. G. Ramakrishna for its earthy throb and labor's nobility, declares: "He who has ploughed the earth is a billionaire in the poetry of love." Translated into multiple languages, his verses grace university textbooks and inspire songs, echoing influences from Allama Prabhu to Neruda and Tagore.
A communicator extraordinaire, Ramesh clinched over 100 debate prizes in college, defying his stutter. His short films, produced via N2 Productions, have garnered international acclaim for themes on education, environment, and culture. Through Srusti Prakashna, he publishes books and cassettes, while Spardha Prapancha magazine empowers rural youth.
Founder of Socially Concerned Friends' Circle and president of Spandana Yuvajana Kendra, Ramesh travels globally—from Sri Lanka to Indonesia—sharing insights. Honored with Karnataka's Youth Award and Environment accolades, he shelters the needy, crediting maternal grace from Padada Kempakka, his life's anchor.
Gandhian in ethos, Ramesh sacrifices for others, proving compassion forges pearls from mud.
