Over the years, the interpretation of Article 21 has expanded to include the right to livelihood. The right to livelihood recognizes the importance of individuals being able to pursue their chosen profession or occupation and to engage in economic activities necessary for their sustenance and well-being. It ensures that individuals have the freedom to earn a living and provides protection against arbitrary deprivation of livelihood by the State. This right has been reinforced through various judicial decisions that have emphasized the significance of economic empowerment and the right to a dignified life. One such case is Olga Tellis Case and the same is explained in this video.
