Manufacturing of cold plates by Friction Stir Welding

Описание к видео Manufacturing of cold plates by Friction Stir Welding

The welding and machining processes showed in this video for the manufacturing of the cold plates have been entirely performed by the STIRWELD FSW head, which can be installed in any 3, 4 or 5 axis CNC machining center.

STIRWELD, is a French technology-based company focused on the democratization of FSW welding technology, and a close collaborator of LORTEK.

The agreement carried out with STIRWELD opens a new catalog of solutions that reinforce Lortek's leadership as a reference technological center in friction welding.

Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a robust welding process used in the manufacturing of cold plates for the e-mobility industry. Unlike traditional welding processes, which are based in fusion-solidification mechanisms, FSW is a solid-state joining process that employs the frictional heat generated by a rotating non-consumable tool to join the materials.

FSW  produces stronger and more uniform welds than those obtained by the conventional  welding processes, improving the efficiency and durability of the products.
