Air New Zealand NZ933 : Flying from Nouméa to Auckland

My time in the Pacific has come to an end so I'm heading home aboard Air New Zealand on their 3 years old Airbus A320neo, ZK-NHD.

As there were almost no taxis in Nouméa, we had to rely on the coach that connects the major hotels to La Tontouta International Airport. After an anxious wait, it finally arrived and took us very far away from the city. Once at the airport, we checked in and proceeded through security screening into the departures area. The plane had already arrived at Gate A2. Once boarding commenced, I settled in Seat 17A and was reminded by the friendly yet familiar Kiwi hospitality. Soon after, we pushed back and taxiied to the runway before taking off towards Auckland. Lunch was served shortly after and the options were vegetarian pasta or an angus beef & cheese pie. I opted for the latter. What was really special about Air New Zealand was that you could order snacks & drinks directly from the IFE. The free Wi-Fi was also a nice touch. There was also a local sports team who got special shoutout from the crew. It was soon time to arrive and we landed before taxiing to Gate 2. Because of the heavy activity on the apron, we had to wait a while before we could disembark. Bags could be collected at Carousel 1. And after all that, the trip was finally over! But it wouldn't be long before I'd be travelling again. Overall, I enjoyed my experience aboard Air New Zealand and I hope that the airline will reinstate flights back to Nouméa once normality has returned to the territory. A very big thank you to everyone who stuck along for the ending of this saga and I can't wait to share more soon :)
