10-15-24 Cutting 24” diameter 2021 blowdown while extending back lawn and creating snowmobile trail

This lower section of woods clearing is the worst regarding many downed trees intertwined and some partially rotted into the ground with brush overgrowth.

Add to that the unevenness of the terrain and a lot of rocks and vines and it makes for interesting clearing work.

The majority of overgrowth is removed. This tree I’m working on was literally completely out of sight, it was so buried in these woods.

This particular tree has an uprooted root plate that stood about 6’ tall when I first came upon it two months ago. I worked at reducing the dirt and rocks that were mixed in with the roots eventually lowering the height of the plate to about three feet. The far end from the camera has a trunk diameter at the root plate of 24”. My 16” MS201T bar needs to go in from both sides in order to cut that large diameter tree.
