Simplifying responses (also referred to in the video as associating actions) can be defined as reducing thoughts and actions into instructions that can be processed faster due to only considering "what" to do while in game. If you take care of thinking "how" to do things, "why" you should do them, and "when" they should be done beforehand, you'll have an easier time when forced to make those decisions in game.
