The Bhumibol Bridge, also known as the Industrial Ring Road Bridge is part of the Industrial Ring Road connecting southern Bangkok with Samut Prakan Province. The bridge crosses the Chao Phraya River. According to tradition, all bridges located in Bangkok over the Chao Phraya River should be named after a member of the royal family, thus this bridge is no exception to the rule and is named after King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Former King of Thailand).
