Process flow
Create a security group with “Intune provisioning client” as owner and assign app and policies to it.
Create device preparation profile
Select app and script in device preparation profile to add during OOBE
Assign profile to users group
During OOBE user authenticates and profile is delivered
After this Device becomes part of security group and get apps and policies assign in first step.
Pros
Adding devices to groups is simpler and faster. replaced dynamic grouping with enrollment time grouping, so devices get assigned apps policies and scripts more efficiently.

Reporting is much more detailed and is available in near-real time.
