Here it is, I finally beat Epsilon, a jump from Colorful OverNight on my input lag broken phone from one and a half years ago. I didn’t die that many times too far, I mostly just died early in the level. I only died to Splash 4 times, the first at 84%, the second being the the ball dual bug at 83%, the third being hitting a green orb at 81% too early making me somehow jump inside of the structure above, and the fourth being from hitting the green orb at 81% too late out of fear of hitting it too early. I only died to Drift like 10 times, mostly from the ship/wave dual but that dual is really fun and consists honestly. I died to Sirhadoken and the Tex only once. I started this level back in February of 2019. I’m not sure if I started it on my phone or on my broken laptop but I’ve always been thinking that I should practice this level to get better at the game and doing that would make me eventually beat it and I did end up beating it. I do think that the first 35k old attempts I spent on mobile/on my laptop only made me do worse though tbh because this level is extremely not being bored based. I only was able to beat this by not playing it. The gameplay is really fun at first but the more you play it, the more you notice how awkward some of the timings are and how hard you have to be consistently motivated to get anywhere and to not die to a random timing. Also the balancing is terrible which is more than half of the reason the level isn’t fun and why it’s considered around Bloodbath difficulty even though it looks way easier. People usually say a level is first half heavy or second half heavy, but Epsilon is mid-half heavy. You basically just get somewhere in the mid-parts and then die and start losing motivation making you die to the predrop over and over again and even if you do make it to beat the end, Splash’s part is ridiculously awkward and rng. Also there are a lot of random difficulty spikes like 33% being the first two clicks of the mini wave, 36% from hitting the black orb too late, 40% being the worst chokepoint by far being just abyss of darkness gameplay randomly, and 42% with the infamous Slimjim straight fly. I have a lot to say about what is good and what is bad and my experience with every part but that’s a lot to explain. I’d say the decoration is good. It aged pretty well considering the level is like 3 years old. I’d recommend beating this if you can quickly else just don’t do it as a first extreme lol. Also if you saw the raw footage, I did in fact exit out of the level on accident by slamming my keyboard lol, it definitely still counts as beating though. Anyways I’m glad I beat Epsilon. Even though I started to feel like I could beat any other level around its difficulty, I wanted to stick to this because the level meant something to me and because going through the lack of motivation to beat it and beating it only proves that I can do even better if I try. Don’t give up right away on something just because of a lack of motivation, if you can pull through then that achievement can be greater than many other things.
