Lyon, France, Multi Modal Transport Paradise Which Dislikes Transport Enthusiasts!

Описание к видео Lyon, France, Multi Modal Transport Paradise Which Dislikes Transport Enthusiasts!

Multi-Modal transports in Lyon, France, including trolleybuses, trams, several metro lines (one of which is fully driverless) and steep incline railways such as are often used to climb mountains - funicular and rack & pinion / cog wheel. Also seen are cyclists and TGV high speed trains - but not diesel buses or suburban mainline trains.

Footage from several visits in the summers of 1992, 1993 and 2003.

Lyon is the only city where I've ever been ejected from a station simply for using a camera. The human rights of transport enthusiasts to enjoy their hobby are breached through a double-standards policy of the transport operator being allowed to use CCTV surveillance to film the passengers but the passengers not being allowed to use their cameras to film the trains!

In an effort to comply with French law which says that people's permission should be sought before filming them a few scenes are not quite as might be expected and at one time part of the screen is blurred. However the lady who stared at my camera was obviously agreable to being filmed - otherwise she would have looked away, rather than staring at me so intently!

I've not been to Lyon since 2003 and since my camera would not be welcomed I'll spend my money somewhere else - where cameras are welcomed.
