Описание к видео Community Shocked as Widow’s Simsim Stolen in Ogwari Amar Lakalac Koch Goma Sub-County

On 6th January 2026, the community of Ogwari, Amar Lakalac, Amar Parish in Koch Goma Sub-County was shocked by an incident of theft involving a young man identified as Ocan Derick, commonly known as “Dee,” a resident of the same area.

The suspect was caught red-handed stealing simsim from the garden of Acan Grace, a widow and resident of Ogwari Village. It is alleged that the suspect had already stolen four sacks of simsim and was in the process of taking the last sack when he was discovered. Upon being seen, the suspect fled the scene and is currently still on the run.
During the incident, Ocan Derick was reportedly using a motorcycle with registration number UFE 675Z. The owner of the motorcycle was later identified as Odokonyero Richard, the LC1 Chairperson of Amar Village. When contacted, Mr. Odokonyero stated that he had given the motorcycle to his son to transport someone to Kalang to check on her identification card.

However, it was later revealed that his son went ahead and gave the motorcycle to another person, who is believed to be the suspect.

Community members who rushed to the scene managed to recover five basins of simsim as well as the motorcycle that was being used to transport the stolen produce.

According to community reports, this incident is not the first case of simsim theft in the area.
There have been repeated cases involving simsim, groundnuts, and other farm produce, particularly in Amar Lakalac, Opok B, Ogwari A, and Ogwari B. It is reported that this is approximately the sixth incident of simsim theft, though previous cases were not successfully identified.

Members of the community further stated that Ocan Derick has been previously suspected of similar thefts. However, there is growing concern that local leaders have not adequately performed their duties in tracking down and addressing the actions of the suspect, which has contributed to the continued occurrence of such crimes.

The community is now calling for stronger action from local leadership and security authorities to ensure that the suspect is apprehended and that future thefts are prevented.
