Tusker Premier League giants Gor Mahia opened a seven-point lead at the summit of the league standings with a hard fought 2-1 win over a resilient Karuturi Sport side on Saturday 27 July at the City Stadium.

The league leaders started off the better side in a rather pale opening half and took a 17th minute lead through Kevin Omondi before Ugandan forward Zzinda Hussein equalized for the visitors five minutes into the second half while Israel Emuge had the last laugh after netting his first ever goal for K'ogalo which handed them the lead in the 71st minute.
