Writer and poet Javed Akhtar attended the Jaipur literature festival. While addressing the session, Javed Akhtar on Jan 20 said that the Indian cinema is one the strongest goodwill ambassadors in the world. Adding further, he expressed that compared to Hollywood, Bollywood stars are better recognised. He said, “Indian cinema is one of the strongest goodwill ambassadors in the world. Compared to Hollywood, our stars are better recognised. If you go to Germany and say "I'm an Indian", you'll be asked, "You know Shah Rukh?" We're a major soft power of India and it should be protected.”
