SINULOG DANCE (Basic Steps and Choreography)

Описание к видео SINULOG DANCE (Basic Steps and Choreography)

The word “Sinulog” pertains to a graceful dance ritual in honor of the miraculous image of Señor Sto. Niño. The dance represents the “sulog” (or current) of the Pahina River in Cebu which the forward and backward movements are said to resemble.

The dance is more than just its steps. The dance is considered an act of prayer and worship. Think of how a child loves being carried in one’s arms and cradled by swaying in order for the baby to sleep. So we always make it a point to give our 30-year old Sto. Niño image our devotional dance of prayer every year. The image was given by our lola during our parents’ wedding in 1991.

We are so grateful to our Alma mater Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion - Cebu for strengthening our love for Sinulog by teaching us the dance during P.E. Class every year and dancing together with the entire student body. May we all dance our prayer during this wonderful celebration of faith.

We pray for a fruitful year ahead that sees the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. Pit Senyor, sa kaayuhan kini! VIVA SEÑOR STO. NIÑO!!! 🙏💃🏽✨
