"The South Korean and U.K. governments will co-host a new round of global forum on artificial intelligence safety from May 21st to 22nd. The Seoul meeting is a mini-summit, which is aimed at building on the legacy of the inaugural AI Safety Summit held in the United Kingdom last November. On day one, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will co-chair a leaders’ virtual summit. And some industry leaders have also been invited to provide updates on how they’ve been fulfilling the commitments made at the U.K. meeting. On day two, there will be an in-person meeting in Seoul. During that meeting, digital ministers, industry leaders, experts and members of civil society groups will share best practices and concrete action plans. And they will also exchange ideas on how to protect society from possible negative impacts of AI, on areas such as energy use, labor markets and the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation."
