Biye Barir Macher Kalia: known for it’s rich texture, irresistible taste and exceptional flavour. It is a festive dish, quite common in Bengali weddings and is served with steamed rice.
*INGREDIENTS*

CATLA/ROHU FISH – 4 pieces

For Tempering (ফোরণের জন্য):
• Whole Dry Red Chillies (শুকনো লঙ্কা) – 2 pieces
• Bay Leaves (তেজ পাতা) – 2 pieces
• Cinnamon (দারচিনি) – 2 inch size
• Cloves (লবঙ্গ) – 4 pieces
• Green Cardamom (ছোট এলাচ) – 4 pieces
• Cumin Seeds (গোটা জীরে) - ½ Teaspoon

For Gravy (গ্রেভি তৈরী করার জন্য):
• Onion medium sized (মিডিয়াম সাইজের পেঁয়াজ) – 2
• Tomato medium sized (মিডিয়াম সাইজের টমেটো) - 1
• Ginger-Garlic Paste (আদা রসুন বাটা) – 1 Tablespoon
• Poppy seeds (পোস্ত) – 1 Teaspoon
• Raisins (কিশমিশ) – 14 to 15 nos.
• Yogurt/Curd (সাদা টক দই) – 2 Tablespoon
• Turmeric powder (হলুদ গুঁড়ো) – ½ Teaspoon
• Cumin powder (জীরে গুঁড়ো) – 1 Teaspoon
• Coriander powder (ধোনে গুঁড়ো) – ½ Teaspoon
• Red Chilli powder (শুকনো লংকার গুঁড়ো) – ½ Teaspoon
• Garam masala powder (গরম মশলার গুঁড়ো) – ½ Teaspoon
• Kashmiri Chilli powder (কাশ্মীরি লংকার গুঁড়ো) – 1 ½ Teaspoon
• Green chillies (কাঁচা লঙ্কা) – 4 to 5 pieces
• Sugar (চিনি) – 1 Teaspoon
• Ghee – 1 Teaspoon
• Salt to taste
• Mustard Oil
