Описание к видео 80-year-old shares deep life lessons

Stella (79) was sitting alone on a bench in Central Park when we spotted her. We’ve been pushing ourselves to film more spontaneous BBS conversations on the fly—but I’ll admit, I don’t love approaching strangers with a camera. I love the talking part, just not the asking. It took me close to an hour to work up the courage, but there was something about Stella—so calm, quietly watching the trees—that compelled me to try. When I asked if she’d talk, she gave that classic, bashful “I don’t have much to say” response—then quietly unfolded insight after insight, each one more profound than the last. She spoke about the loss of her son and how, even in death, he remains her greatest teacher. We didn’t get into the details, but later that day I looked him up. His name was Dave Deporis. He was a gifted musician who died tragically in Oakland eight years ago at 40. I hadn’t heard his music before, but many had. I listened to his song As a Boy / In Love on the flight home, with Stella’s voice still echoing in my head. Thank you, Stella, for trusting us with your story. — Steve
