Hi, Matt with etrailer. And today we're gonna be talking about the Flint Hill Goods aluminum cargo carrier with a ramp on the 2023 Toyota Highlander. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you find yourself kind of moving anything that's pretty heavy and has wheels. So if you move into a lawnmower, a push one, and if you maybe have, maybe a generator with wheels and you need to get it up here, it's gonna make it a lot easier with that ramp. And if you find yourself not really needing to use the ramp any, that's all right, it still works just like a regular cargo carrier. And to kind of put it back up into its stationary position, all you have to do is lift up on the ramp, let it fold in on itself at the center, and push up here, letting these two halves squeeze together.

Now I'm just gonna reach down here and grab this U-bolt, removing this security pin, and now I can just put that U-bolt through these two holes here, and it'll block both sides of here so it can't really bounce around or off. And I'll just plug that security pin back on there, just like that. And I'll do the same thing on the other side. And what I really like about these U-bolts, they're gonna be secured with this chain, that feels pretty sturdy, and this U-bolts pretty easy to use, especially with just pushing through these holes and getting around there. That safety pin just adds for that extra security.

This is gonna be constructed from aluminum, and it's still gonna have the carrying capacity of 500 pounds. So that's really nice because even with this lightweight material, it's just gonna be very durable as well. As for how it's gonna interact on the outside of our vehicle, From the ground up, we're gonna have about 13 1/2", so that's kind of low to the ground. So I'd definitely keep in mind if you're going up any steep hills, just in case the bottom of this hits the ground. And from the back of our vehicle to the back of our carrier is gonna be about 36 1/2".

So that's gonna add a fair amount of room to the back of the vehicle. Just kind of keep in mind if you're in any tight spots, like a parking garage or a parking spot. It's also nice if you don't want to use your the sides of this to strap anything down, we do have these eyelets secured on here. They're various sturdy made out of steel, and there's gonna be four of 'em. So you have four different spots to use.

Now if you want to access your hatch, there's only gonna be two times you can do that. And that's if this ramp is is down and you don't have anything loaded up, or you're just kind of driving around with the ramp down. So that's gonna mean you don't have anything on here as well, just in case you don't want to take this carrier off. And how we put the ramp down is gonna be similar to how we put it up. All I'm gonna do is come to this U-bolt, pull that safety pin, take it out. Just going to keep this pin here for now, just to secure it. I'm gonna do the same thing on the other side, keep pulling that pin and taking out the U-bolt. And now I'm just gonna lower this down. And it's gonna rest right in here. And as you're gonna lift up on this other side, and now that's gonna gimme the ability to take this hook-and-loop strap and just kind of flop that over this rung here and secure it down. Now I'm gonna put these back down here, grab these U-bolts, take out my safety pin and just push it through here. And what that's gonna do is, since this bottom part's secured, even if this top part is bouncing up, it's gonna hit this bolt before extending completely. And I can just do the same thing on the other side. We're gonna have our 2" shank, that plugs right into our 2" hitch receiver, and that's also gonna have this U-bolt that goes down to the bottom and is gonna connect to this plate and have these bolts on the bottom. And what this plate's gonna do is gonna help center everything down so it doesn't really rattle as much or at all. And at the end here, we're gonna have this anti-rattle bolt that goes through and connects to this anti-rattle nut just so it doesn't really rattle at all. And it's very secured. Overall, I think this is gonna be a good option for you, especially if you have any really heavy items that you need a ramp to help get up there, since there's not a lot of other carriers
