Ana Laevski Rastsvetaeva, also known as Ana Layevska, was born on 10 January 1982 in Kiev, Ukraine.

This beautiful and talented actress arrived in Mexico at the age of nine with her parents Sergei Laevski and Inna Rastsvetaeva and has since childhood been actively involved in the arts.

As a child she played the violin which, along with acting, still forms part of her repertoire as an artist.

In Mexico, Ana attended the Centro de Educación Artística de Televisa (CEA) and in 1998 made her debut with the soap opera "Preciosa". In 1999 she co-starred in "Amor gitano" with Mauricio Islas and Mariana Seoane.

From 2000 onwards she has worked steadily and starred in among others:

• "Primer Amor: A 1000 x Hora" (2000) which won her an "Eres" (2001) and "Tv y Novelas" (2001) awards as Best New Actress. She also won the "Palmas de Oro" award in the same category.

• Leading roles include:
o "El Juego de la vida" (2001)
o "Clap... el lugar de tus sueños" (2003) where she also sang the central theme;
o One of Mexican TV's most famous productions: "La madrastra" (2005)
o Bailando por un sueño"(2006)
o "Las dos caras de Ana" (2006)
o Querida enemiga" (2008)
o "Mujeres asesinas" (2009)
o "Tiempo final" (2009)
o In 2010, Layevska joined the outstanding cast of another Telemundo production entitled "El fantasma de Elena" a thriller where she showed her versatility playing the role of a sick and psychopathic woman. Her fellow cast members included respected actors Elizabeth Gutiérrez, Braulio Castillo, Segundo Cernadas, Elluz Peraza, and Zully Montero, among others.


• In film Ana starred in "In the Time of the Butterflies" (2001) together with Salma Hayek and Edward James Olmos. She also starred in the short movie "Génesis 3:19" (2004), the Disney comedy "Tired of Kissing Frogs" (2006), "Road to Fame" (2008), "The Fighter", and "Heights Dweller" (2008) among others.

Ana has also worked in theatre and starred in plays such as "Las mariposas son libres" which won her the ACPT award from the Asociación de Periodistas Teatrales as Best New Actress in Theatre (2002). In 2005 she won this award again for Best New Actress in Musical Theatre. Other works include "La prueba", "Anita la huerfanita", and "Huevos de pascua".

Ana is fluent in several languages including Russian, Spanish, and English and comes from an orthodox Christian family.
