How to Create a Clipping Mask in Photoshop

Learn how to create a clipping mask in photoshop while making a quick scrapbook inspired image! A clipping mask, or photoshop mask, in the simplest way, is a layer clipped inside of another layer or group. A clipped layer will only be visible within the boundaries of the layer it's clipped into, also known as the "base" layer. A layer will become underlined, indicating that it is a base layer, once a separate layer in clipped into it. Let's get to learning how to create a mask in photoshop!
