My neighbor put a French drain in the ground that got buried pretty much immediately after the first rain. We put in a 6" pipe across the driveway, which took care of the runoff, but the pipe was still in the ground. I offered to dig it up and use the dirt from the ditch dig to raise the ground level up a bit.
