FUN FACTS ABOUT GIRAFFES //GIRAFFE CENTER, NAIROBI KENYA

While you are in Nairobi, you need to visit Giraffe Center and get to interact with the giraffes, feed them and learn more about these beautiful creatures. It was exciting to learn some cool facts about giraffes such as;
1. A giraffe`s spots are much like human finger prints. No two individual giraffes have exactly the same pattern.
2. Giraffes have one of the longest gestation periods of any animal and are pregnant for around 14 to 15 months, or 453 to 464 days.

This visit intrigued me to research more on giraffes further such that;
3.They only need to drink water once every few days. Most of their water comes from all the plants they eat.
4.They live up to an age of 38 years.
5. Over short distances, giraffes can run at speeds up to 56 km.

Giraffe center have taken necessary precautionary measures against COVID- 19, one has to book in advance tickets from their website and schedule time to visit the place. Therefore, do not just pop in as before.

The entrance fees as as follows;
Non-Resident Adults- Kshs. 1,500 (approx. $15.00)
Non-resident Child (Age 3yrs-12yrs)- Kshs. 750 (approx. $7.50)
Resident Adults-Kshs. 400
Resident Children (Age 3yrs-12yrs)- Kshs. 200
Free for Children below 3yrs of Age

Opening times
Monday- Sunday 9am-5pm.
