This is my improved video for the full Band Organ music from King Arthur's Carrousel at Disneyland from 1968-82. Despite being gone from Disneyland since 1982 (And Magic Kingdom, where it also played from 1971 until around 1983/84) this audio continues to play to this day at Tokyo Disneyland where it's played since 1983. Even though Disney never released this audio, thankfully a visitor to Tokyo Disneyland recorded each and every one of the soundtracks played on their Castle Carousel and uploaded it on their channel, Dl. fn. That video is linked below. I've uploaded another recording before, but the quality of this recording is better. That's why I'm reuploading. I took this audio & removed the Japanese safety spiels using AI, so it is just the music, which is what was played (Along with live English safety spiels) at Disneyland & WDW in the 1970's. Some parts are still not perfect quality because the safety spiels were removed over them, but for the most part you can still hear the songs as they were/are played, and many parts of each & every track are still very clear quality. The two highest quality tracks are "it's a small world" and Chim Chim Cher-ee, which I was able to find the full source audio for at DisneyChris.com in the Old Fantasyland section. Those are the only of these tracks to have full, HQ source audio, which is why all of the others use live audio from Tokyo. I know that they stopped using this audio at Disneyland in Sept 1982 because that was when they completely rebuilt most of the central Fantasyland courtyard for the 1983 New Fantasyland. Despite being used in Tokyo since 1983, it was also replaced with the 1983 New Fantasyland version at Walt Disney World in 1983 or 84. Since it was replaced in the early/mid 80's at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, this means that any live recordings from video cameras or otherwise of this audio being played live in either of these parks are very rare, and there are only a few on this platform at the moment from the mid to late 70's until 1983, a few of which I've linked below. I know that this audio was used at Disneyland beginning in 1968 for a couple reasons. One of them is the amazing site DisneyChris.com, which actually uploaded a much higher quality master of the source audio of a couple of the songs. The other, more obvious to most fans, is that several of these classic songs, specifically "it's a small world", Chim-Chim-Cher-ee, Winnie the Pooh, and Bare Necessities, were originally composed in the 1960's. There are several other songs as well from older (1930's-50's) Disney animated classics. This music is also noteworthy as it's the only Disney theme park Carousel music to include the theme song of my favorite ride anywhere: "it's a small world". In this reupload of this audio, I have many more pictures that I've downloaded which rotate about every minute, all from between 1968 and 1982. There is one or a few from almost each and every one of those years, as well as a few more undated ones. They are all presented in chronological order, with the undated ones being put in their respective time periods (Early 70's, late 70's-early 80's), judging by the colors of the canopy, horses, & nearby tents. The 1955 white & blue striped canopy colors were used until late 1975, as shown by the images over the first 16 minutes & 50 seconds. At 16 minutes is one from 1975, the last to show these colors. Then it was replaced with a version more reminiscent of the 1971 Walt Disney World version, mostly white with a few other black ornamentations, & the same, mostly red top as the 1955-75 version. A few months earlier around early-mid 1975, all original multicolored horses were repainted all white, the color which remains for all of them today. In 1969, nearby Mad Tea Party installed the arches. The surrounding tents were repainted in 1977-78. In early 1982 shortly before this was replaced, the Carrousel was moved back several feet to better help crowds. The last image shows this. I hope you enjoy it!
I do not own any of the audio or images in this video. All audio is owned by Disney, and special credit to Dl. fn for recording this audio at Tokyo Disneyland's Castle Carousel. All images are owned by their respective owners.
