The nearby Great Langdale Beck flows peacefully alongside the path as we head east, offering a sense of tranquility that is typical of this part of the Lake District. Soon, we reach Elter Water itself, where we are rewarded with one of the most iconic views in the area – the mirror-like surface of the water reflecting the surrounding peaks.

From here, our journey continues along the meandering beck, which accompanies us on the final stretch towards Skelwith Bridge. The landscape changes subtly as we approach the finish line, with open fields giving way to woodland paths and the sound of rushing water becoming more prominent. Finally, we arrive at the weirs of Skelwith Bridge, where the crashing water provides a beautiful and dramatic end to our ride.
