Reading for Pleasure?

This idea was inspired by my final Speech in Jour-105 about education. In this fast-pace society, do we just stop and read. I've always hears that Reading is "Fun-damental" I never appreciated Reading until I read Kite Runner and Fight Club. So my question is do people still read for fun, or is it more technology that we think of as fun?
