Draupadi murmu has been elected for 15th president of India. She defeated her opponent candidate Jashwant sinha & became India's second female president. In this presidential election we the common people don't give vote. our elected MP & ?MLA' s take part in this presidential election. They give votes on behalf of the common people. Another Interesting thing is observed in this election here "one person one vote"don't work. The vote valu of mla & mp's are different & vary state wise . For example the value of one mla vote in west bengal is 151, In UP it is 208. The total vote value of MLA's are 5,43,231.& The total vote value of all mps are assumed equal to this value to overcome discrimination. The candidate who crosses 50% mergin of the vote will become the president. Draupadi murmu got 65% vote& elected for India 15 th president. She is the first president of India who was born after Independence & belong to a tribal population.
