대학에서 신문방송학을, 대학원에서는 텔레커뮤니케이션을 전공했다. 제일기획에서 광고 일을 시작해 지금은 TBWA KOREA에서 크리에이티브 대표CCO로 일하고 있다.

마음과 생각이 통하는 사람들과 함께 인문학적인 감수성과 인간을 향한 따뜻한 시선을 바탕으로 하는 많은 광고를 만들었다. '그녀의 자전거가 내 가슴속으로 들어왔다' '넥타이와 청바지는 평등하다' '나이는 숫자에 불과하다' '생활의 중심' '사람을 향합니다' '생각이 에너지다' '진심이 짓는다' '혁신을 혁신하다' 등 한 시대의 생각을 진보시킨 카피들은 그 협업의 결과물들이다.

자신만의 들여다보기 독법으로 창의력과 감수성을 일깨워준 책들을 소개했으며(『책은 도끼다』, 『다시, 책은 도끼다』), 살면서 꼭 생각해봤으면 하는 가치들을 인생의 선배로서 이야기했고(『여덟 단어』), 크리에이티브 디렉터로서 창의성과 소통의 기술을 전하는(『인문학으로 광고하다』) 책들을 펴냈다.
늘 거기에 있었지만 미처 눈여겨보지 않았던 것들에 시선을 주어 매일을 풍요롭고 행복하게 만드는 것이 진짜 사는 재미라고 생각한다.
