Use a Host Wi-Fi Adapter to Connect a VMware Workstation VM to a Wireless Internet Connection

Описание к видео Use a Host Wi-Fi Adapter to Connect a VMware Workstation VM to a Wireless Internet Connection

Normally when you configure a virtual machine in VMware Workstation, it will use NAT (Network Address Translation) to "share" the internet connection with the physical network adapter on the host computer that is running VMware Workstation. So if you are using a Wi-Fi connection for internet access on your host, your virtual machine will use that wireless connection for its internet access even though it won't show as a Wi-Fi connection on the VM itself.

You can however connect a USB wireless adapter to your host and then attach it to your virtual machine so the VM is acting like it has its own dedicated Wi-Fi adapter. Then you can connect to your wireless access point directly from your virtual machine.
