Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 [RAW Onboard]

The big Vitpilen was a big surprise. Husqvarna put a lot of effort into marketing this machine, advertising its amazing design and telling everyone how they created a new motorcycle category basically. Which is true in my opinion. However they didn't talk about how competitive this Vitpilen actually is. Some of you saw the video on my channel where I went to visit the German Vitpilen media launch event in Berlin. Even there they didn't really mention its best sides. And that's why I was so surprised when I hit the twisties for the first time!!
The bike is very light (around 160kg) and at the same time very stable. The WP suspension works exceptionally well. It even offers a little comfort. But mainly it keeps the bike perfectly on the chosen line. My steering inputs were "translated" into precise actions. The bike handles perfectly neutral as well, it doesn't fall into lean awkwardly, it doesn't stand up when letting go off the throttle quickly during corners. Its superb handling in combination with the well working quickshifter did manage to put a huge smile on my face. The twisty road is where this bike belongs. In the city it bothered me actually because naturally the big single cylinder doesn't like low revs. And since the handlebars are rather short you need to apply a little force for steering which gets on my nerves when filtering in between cars. But once it's out in the twisties this machine simply is brilliant.
