Australian Sapphires from Miners Cottage central QLD Gemfields

We had our picks, shovels & pans ready to head out fossicking into the Rubyvale - Emerald wild-blue-yonder to collect stones or sapphires on a #gemhunting expedition, when Terry the Gem-Seekers Caravan Park Manager suggested we pop around the corner & go through some #paydirt at the Miners Cottage & get a free cuppa & scone 😊 ....& he also advised it's dog friendly! So we did.

We purchased a $100.oo bucket & a $30.oo take home bag of wash (for another clip).

We spent a few hours @minerscottage39 & found a mountain of Stunning Sapphires, some cutters, some cabochons & a few just to keep in the Pretty-Jar 💙...

Sam & the staff were great & welcomed our staffy puppy & examined our Gems, to advise us on which ones to get cut & polished!

We highly recommend this Rock hounding adventure, if yr in down town #rubyvale.

We found some of our biggest Aussie Sapphires yet! Just one was 26.95 crt 🙂
