Footage has captured the moment a cat has saved a dog after it was attacked by coyotes.

The dog, Oakley, went outside to do her business when two coyotes went after her, one grabbing her before a cat ran in and scared off the coyotes.

The owner, Lane Dyer, says the cat is a stray that he and his family take care of.

“Her and Oakley hit it off pretty good from the beginning,” Mr Dyer said.

Oakley suffered injures from the attack receiving stitches but has since recovered.
