About This Video:
In Hindu Dharma, the goal of life is self-realization or the attainment of God. Fasting has deep spiritual and religious significance. According to Hindu scriptures, fasting helps create a connection with God by establishing a harmonious relationship between the body and the soul. This balance is essential for human well-being, nourishing both physical and spiritual needs.
Karwa Chauth is one such festival/ritual celebrated primarily in the North and Northwestern parts of India. It falls nine days before Diwali on ‘Kartik ki Chauth,’ i.e., the fourth day of the new moon after Dussehra, in the month of Kartik (October-November).

Observance of Karwa Chauth:
The term "Karwa" refers to a lamp or an earthen pot with a spout, and "Chauth" means the fourth day of Krishna Paksh in the month of Kartik. Married Hindu women observe this fast for the long life, well-being, and prosperity of their husbands. It is one of the most difficult fasts, where women refrain from even a drop of water from sunrise until offering prayers and worshipping the moon at night.
