Turnabout Ablaze

With the whirlwind of events the last few days, Edgeworth hoped to have a few moments of peace for now....which was quickly shattered when Kay arrived with news of the Yatagarasu's arrival. The date the calling card mentioned was March 14....which was today! Wanting to go, they headed for the place mentioned.....the former Cohdopian embassy.

The place was now an embassy for two separate countries, the Kingdom of Allebahst and the Republic of Babahl. After the shows in the theater...when hearing the news that the Yatagarasu was spotted, Kay immediately sets out to find him. Edgeworth chases after her towards the Babahlese side of the embassy when he's greeted by a shocking sight: the embassy was on fire!

After heading in....he finds Kay, Gumshoe...and Shih-na? Looks like Kay's suspected of...murder?!? Manny Coachen's body was found in the room, charred from the fire, and was stabbed in the heart. Unfortunately, due to extraterritorial rights, he's unable to do any investigating....until an unexpected opportunity shows up; Franziska, as well as the ambassador Palaeno, arrives. Miles decides to become Franziska's, er, "subordinate" in order to get permission to search.

Along with the body, there were several spots that required further search...the set of knives with one missing, the key that was stolen 7 years ago....and Manny's safe. Turns out the key was the key to the safe....and the knife end was, in fact, another sort of key to a hidden compartment...full of smuggled artwork, and the rest of the missing pages from Interpol's research.

Now to clear Kay of suspicions.....the murder weapon, the knife, had a special feature: the handles could be dismantled and swapped. The emblem on the knife wasn't a butterfly, but a flower. In other words, the knife came from Allebahst! How did the knife get smuggled over, how was the fire started, and what really happened? Guess it's time to pay the Allebahstian side a visit....
