Classic TV Theme: Hazel (three versions)

Описание к видео Classic TV Theme: Hazel (three versions)

Based on a cartoon series by Ted Key, Hazel starred Oscar winner Shirley Booth as a maid who was so much more (a forerunner of Mr Belvedere). The show ran a good five seasons...well, a good four seasons. In the last season it moved to CBS and, like The Real McCoys, there were wholesale cast changes and the ratings went downhill.
Some online sources seem to think this show had just one theme; in the small print on IMDB there's a buried reference to a second theme. In fact there were three themes. Season one (the black-and-white season) introduced a theme by legendary songwriters Sammy Cahn and James Van Heusen: instrumental in the open, sung by the Modernaires in the closing credits. The vocal version went away quickly and was replaced by an instrumental (both variations heard here). The second theme came in season four courtesy Howard Greenfield and Helen Miller. Finally, with the move to CBS came a third theme, this one by Howard Greenfield and Jack Keller. They're all kind of similar in tone but they do fit the show, and they're all here for your listening pleasure.
