Traxxas Rustler VXL stock speed run

Got a sweet deal on a well looked after 2wd Traxxas Slash VXL. Had it a while but never tested to see how fast it can go. As far as I can tell it's completely stock so running Traxxas' own brushless Velineon motor / esc system. I ran it on a 3s lipo battery and managed to get 40mph out of it.


Things to bear in mind are that I put in some new rear tyres (Duratex Bandito ) and you'll see there's a bit of ballooning as I reach the higher speeds.

The other thing to bear in mind is that I had to really be gentle with the throttle as even in mid run, if I squeezed it, the car's nose would raise.


I've checked on the Traxxas website so know I'm roughly about 5mph down on speed but then it's not a new car (so wear and tear), I'm not using chunky tires. I'll keep playing around with this like I do the Slash as ideally I want both machines to crack 50 - 60 mph
