In this recipe, I am making "Spicy South Indian prawn fry". An ideal party food that goes best with beer and other drinks, this finger licking recipe is sure to fire up your taste buds. The best part is, you only need few ingredients that can be blended and this recipe takes little to no time at all.

South Indian Spicy fried prawns

Ingredients

350g prawns, cleaned, deveined, and shell intact.
1 heaped tbsp coconut oil

Marinade
__________

1 small shallot
2 sprigs fresh curry leaves
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 tsp crushed black pepper
1/2 fenugreek seed powder
2 heaped tsp kashmiri chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
juice of one lime
Salt to taste


Method
---------------

Clean and de-vein the prawns and make small incisions on the shell but keep the shell intact

Grind the marinade ingredients into a smooth paste - add little water if you have to but don’t make it watery. Apply the marinade generously all over the prawns, set aside and keep it in the fridge for 30 mins.

Heat a pan on low flame and add coconut oil. Add the prawns and the fresh curry leaves. If the pan is small, cook in batches to ensure the prawns cook well.

Cover and cook on low flame for 2-3mins on each side. Adjust the time according to the size of the prawns.

Spicy prawns are now ready. Enjoy!
