Sooo another GMV. :D

This game was an emotional roller-coaster even before I started playing. The EA launcher just straight up refused to launch the game for two !!! days, and I was so looking forward to it I was actually losing it. Thanks, EA. But yeah, obviously I did manage to play it after all and wow. Just wow. I did not expect it to feel so much bigger than the first one. I also did not expect all the Merrical we got, especially after the tie-in novel.

I didn’t care that much for the new characters, I thought I’d like Dagan but he just seemed meh to me. Bode, too. I found Turgle, Moran and Zee way more compelling, I do wish they had more to do than just hang around the base for the most part. But BUT as long as we have Merrin, Cal, BD and Greez (and boglings!) I’m like 100% content. Pretty sure I’d be fine with a game just about them hanging out and trolling each other with nothing else going on. That’s just how much I love them. Especially Merrin.

Oh I also absolutely loved Cal leaning towards the dark side. Throghout the game it felt like he was tired, angry and just overall not very jedi-y. It was especially great from the Merrical standpoint with her bringing him towards the light this time around. Pretty cool that we got to experience the way Merrin’s teleporting works, too.

I do wish the camera in the cutscenes was better though, the lighting on the faces was definitely miles better in Fallen Order + the camera wasn’t shaky, but maybe that’s just my impression after editing. The game did look beautiful while I was playing it, Koboh is absolutely stunning, but yeah, when you start editing the first game weirdly looks better and is just easier to work with… And even once I turned the grain effect off the game still seemed overly grainy and very poorly anti-aliased (I was playing on 50/50 epic and high settings). Had to record some footage with free cam to make this, too, and I’m still not 100% happy with this vid. But hey, grainy or not, it’s Merrical.
