This is a WHAS11 newscast from 40 years ago today. This year the legacy station celebrated 70 years of broadcasting. This newscast was on th day Colonel Sanders passed away. He didn't live to be a hundred as he hoped but his 90 years was filled with enough accomplishment for a couple lifetimes.

Through our archive we are able to go back and see how we covered the death of the man who is still a huge part of pop culture today. With our own interviews we had done with him through the years we are able to show the man, not just character who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken.
