This is Nigg Energy Park in the Firth of Cromarty which is where Invergordon, Scotland is located, which serves as the port for the City of Inverness, which is regarded as the "capital" of the Scottish Highlands. Nigg Energy Park had its beginning in 1972, initially being a fabrication yard for North Sea oil platforms. After going dormant for a time, it was revived when Global Energy Group took it over in 2012. Today, the yard and associated waters in the Firth provide storage and decommissioning services for oil rigs and also are involved in renewable energy projects such as construction of wind turbines. This video was taken in the early evening of 5/16/23 from Viking Venus as she departed the Firth headed towards Edinburgh.
