ABANDONED IN IRELAND: Rockfield Hotel

Описание к видео ABANDONED IN IRELAND: Rockfield Hotel

Unfortunately I didn't make a video of Cars & Coffee Bray at the weekend, so here's something different. The clips and the photo at the end were taken within 2 hours, in the first clip it's raining, in the clips showing the hotel's exterior it's cloudy and then in the photo it's sunny with clear blue skies. IRISH WEATHER IS WEIRD.

History:
The Hotel is the once popular Rockfield Hotel in Brittas Bay, Co. Wicklow. The building you see in the video was built by a German family called Jacquerin in 1964 after the original was burned to the ground in a fire in which the hotel's chef perished. The hotel finally shut in 1990 after going through a few more owners. The basement has a huge open area as there was a bowling alley down there back in the day. A local told me that he used to go to dances in the basement when he was younger. He said that the hotel's service was bad, and that's why he thinks it ended up closing. This hotel had a mini golf course, orchards and greenhouses, an outdoor pool, a tennis court and even an airstrip for light aircraft. The accommodation building is mostly collapsed, not much left too see in there.
