After my recent acquisition of a hoard of swords form India, Nepal, and Tibet, it's now time to start the cleaning and restoration process.
As described in a previous video, these swords are all in varying states of disrepair, from rusty and pitted to outright relics.

I'm in the process of cleaning them using a variety of different methods, from Autosol and friction to chelation through Renaissance Decorroder.

Apart from the pleasure of hopefully restoring several antique swords back to life, one important benefit of this project is that it might allow to compare how different maintenance and restoration processes affect similar hilts and blades.

This is not the typical one-session cleaning project and involves multiple passes and, in some cases, a combination of different methods, so this video is just one update in a longer series I hope you will enjoy.
