In part 1 of this video series, I discussed about the lab environment required to setup a 2-node single site Hyper-V failover cluster, virtual machine port groups configuration requirement on the standalone ESXi host to connect the virtual machines along with few static routes that needs to be created on the Hyper-V hosts. I also discussed about networking requirements and best practices for Hyper-V hosts, hardware requirements for Hyper-V hosts for both physical machines and virtual machines, system requirements for Hyper-V hosts and failover cluster requirements.

In part 2 of this video series, I’ll discuss about the configuration of an iSCSI Target server and create few iSCSI disks to map them as cluster shared volumes (CSVs) onto Hyper-V hosts. I’ll also discuss about how iSCSI initiators on Hyper-V hosts are configured to connect to the iSCSI Targets to access the iSCSI disks and how these iSCSI disks need to be formatted for using them in failover cluster.
