Much is “hidden” beneath Albas sexy appearance!

She has the classic lines of the original sailboats. But build in the 80’s, she was constructed as a blue water, go anywhere sailboat. Back then, builders didn’t go cheap on the fibreglass hulls. Alba is every boat inspectors dream. Everywhere you look, her solid construction is obvious.

On top of that, she is a pleasure under sail. With a 6.6 foot fin keel, she points perfectly to weather.

Her ramp driven autopilot and how well balanced she is, allows her to be the single handed ultimate, no matter up or down wind!

Her sail-plan is laid out so, that at 12 knots, the slab reefing is asked for. With 3 reefs in the main, there is lots of acceleration and deceleration options.

Down below, Alba has all the aspect of comfortable living . Webasto heater keeps her warm and dry. Hot water system, fridge and freezer. Spacious V-berth with huge glass hatch. Huge head, including shower. Nav-station with all instruments.

All of Albas important features were attended to starting 2010:
New Yanmar engine, now at 1300 hrs
New running and standing rigging
Pulled the mast and redone mast step
Dropped the keep and redone keel-bolts. She is practically a 12 year old boat with the traditional strength!!!!

The TLC that went into her amounts to almost US $ 100K. (She was refitted in the States!!)

The last two owners have spend lots of money on Alba, and used her very little. We bought her in the spring of 2018 with 450 hrs on the clock. We have sailed her lots in the time since and the engine now has 1300 hrs.

She has been out home for 3 years and we have loved her performances, in all conditions, and her big windows in the kitchen and living area made us feel like living in a condo on the water!!

SPECS:
The Sabre 38, build in 1983, traditional layout has accommodations for six in two cabins. She offers 6’3” headroom throughout. The forward cabin has two 6’6” V-berths with newer upholstery and mattress. The head is spacious and features a separate shower with hot and cold pressure water. The galley to port has teak trim on generous counter space with gimballed three burner stove. The Nav station is to starboard with a chart light, shelf, and access to electronics behind sliding doors. There are 3 drawers with a locker below the navigation station with the quarter berth just aft.
