Khabat Thermal Power Plant Zeyad

The Khabat 2 x 150 MW Power Plant Project is two units, oil (fuel oil and diesel oil) fired conventional steam cycle electric power generating facility.
Each steam turbine generator unit is rated at 150 MW (net at step-up transformer HV terminal), for a total capacity of 300 MW. The units are capable of generating rated capacity by firing the fuel oil.
The plant design has been based on a surface condenser with cooling tower, using water from the Great Zab River. Pretreated raw water for the service water, potable water system, make-up water, demineralized water plant and cooling tower make-up water is provided by raw water pretreatment system. Fuel oil is delivered to the site by pipeline or fuel oil unloading system. Diesel oil is delivered to the site from diesel oil unloading system.
The electrical plant interface is at a 132 kV switchyard/substation.The switchyard/substation and interconnection to the KRG power system is provided by others.
