Kausani | Bageswar | Baijanath | Rudrahari | Katarmal Sun Temple | Kumaon 2021 Part 13

On 31st October, 2021 we started from Munsiyari at around 8:30 am for Kausani, on the way we visited Bageswar and Baijanath.
The city of Bageswar has always been importamt city of Kumaon as contributed to the business with Tibet and Nepal. Bageswar is situated on the confluence of Sarayu and Gomoti river and at the confluence there is Bagnath temple which was constructed in the year 1450 AD by Laxmi Chand, ruler of Chand dynasti.
Baijanath temple complex was built between 9th and 10th century AD, Baijanath is just 21.1 km from Bageswar towards Kausani. Baijanath was built by rulers of Katayuri dynasty.
We went to Kausani after visiting Baijanath and stayed at Kausani. Next day, we first visited Anasakti Ashram at Kausani where Gandhiji stayed in the year 1929 and termed Kausani as "Mini Switzerland". Then we went to Rudrahari temple by trekking 2 km and after that while returning back to Haldwani we stopped at Katarmal Sun Temple and Nim Karoli Baba Ashram. ​
