BMW X5 Front Strut Replacement DIY (2014-2018 BMW F15 X5 & F16 X6)

►BMW X5 front struts are a common replacement item. If the ride quality of your BMW X5 or X6 has gotten noticeably harsher since you purchased it, or if it hasn't ridden well since the day you bought it, there's a good chance your front struts need to be replaced.

The front struts on your car or SUV dampen the suspension travel and absorb the bumps and jolts of the roads. As they get older, the seals wear out, and the hydraulic fluid inside is allowed to leak out. When this happens, they cannot effectively dampen the bumps and vibrations of the road, leading to a harsh ride.

In this video, Gareth Foley, FCP Euro's BMW Catalog Manager, shows us how to replace the front struts on his very own BMW F15 X5. This is a job that can be completed in your garage or driveway with relative ease and a minimum of special tools.
