Top of Europe Switzerland Experience

We travel by train to the Top of Europe Jungfraujoch observatory in Switzerland. This trip involved multiple train stops and a drop of temperature of about 80 degrees in the valley to below freezing at the observation deck at 11,333 feet.

Tips for visiting the Top of Europe
1. Check the weather before booking your tickets. It's not worthwhile if the mountain is socked in.
2. During peak periods in the summer, buy reserved tickets ahead of time at jungfrau.ch (also a good site for weather information).
3. Get the first train available in the morning to beat the crowds (but expect it to still be crazy with a crush of other tourists)
4. Bring winter weather clothes -- a warm coat, gloves, hat and sunglasses. There will be snow!
5. Get the Swiss Travel Pass of Swiss Half Fare Card for deep discounts. This is an expensive excursion that cost us about $150 per person using the Swiss Half Fare Card. It would have been over $300 per person without the discounts.
