Story :-
OP has been with her fiancé, Luca for four years since they met at university. Luca is still studying and working with his dad at the family medical practice, where he will work full-time when he qualifies. Op has a successful job with an international media company. They are very happy and looking forward to getting married. Op has never had the best relationship with her sister, Isobel, or her mum, Jenny. Her sister is very entitled and is very different from Op in many ways. Isobel got married to her husband Pete three years ago, she married the first man that she dated as she was desperate to get married. Op’s parent’s paid for a huge expensive wedding for Isobel and is paying towards Op’s wedding, although Luca’s family is also paying a good amount.
Isobel has never been happy with her life. She always wants more. Pete, her husband, is a really good guy and Op gets on really well with him. She feels sorry for him as nothing he does is good enough for Isobel or her mother. Isobel will put him down around other people and say mean things to his face. Op always wonders why Pete puts up with it, or why if Isobel is so unhappy why she does not just get divorced and find someone else.
When Op and Luca get engaged, they had a big party and there is a lot of talk about how Luca will be working with his dad in his exclusive clinic as a doctor and will one day inherit the whole thing. Isobel hears all this and sets her sight on Luca. She is determined to take Luca away from Op. She spends a lot of time turning up in random places where Op and Luca are or going around to the house when she knows Op is at work. Luca begins to get uncomfortable and tells Op that he wants her sister to back off a bit. Op talks to Isobel and her mother, and they say that Isobel has ‘fallen in love with Luca’ and Op needs to step away and let her sister be happy. Op says not a chance and they are being ridiculous. Luca has no feelings for Isobel, and she is married. Op’s family demand they stop the wedding, as it will upset Isobel.
Op gives the family back the money they have given towards the wedding and uninvites them. Pete is asked to be the best man for Luca in revenge and Pete starts divorce proceedings against Isobel after he meets a lovely woman at the wedding. Isobel ends up alone and bitter.
