In 2020, PE Teacher Louise Lewis was suspended by her school for carrying out, what the National Education Union (NEU) deemed, her union duties to protect fellow staff and students during the pandemic.

After initially winning her appeal and being reinstated, Louise was recently sacked by the school's Chair of Governors.

The NEU, as well as many local teachers and members of the community, have seen this as unfair dismissal and recently took to the streets of Huddersfield to campaign on behalf of Louise.
